We are pleased to announce that we have implemented changes to our ACE Fund Research to enhance visibility and simplicity of rated funds in Dynamic Planner this month. We took this decision following a consultation process with our customers to understand how we could build on the core strengths of the process and help advisers identify the superior funds over time.
The changes see the current four ACE awards streamlined to just two awards – Premium Fund and Select Fund. The methodology for achieving an award has not changed, except that now we do not rate any funds that are not an appropriate fit for the Dynamic Planner Asset and Risk Models. This means that the criteria used to give an ACE 1 award will no longer be used. Now, the only difference between the two awards will be the time period used in the analysis, five years for Premium and shorter periods for Select.
How does the research process work?
The core of our process is a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The quantitative analysis combines measures of performance, risk, outperformance frequency, and tracking error relative to the Dynamic Planner Asset and Risk Model. The qualitative overlay examines the fund objective, management structure, investment process, costs, and availability to retail investors. This process is unique in that it is the only fund research service to analyse funds relative to a specific risk scheme.
Dynamic Planner Research will continue to cover all UK Domiciled IA listed funds whether Multi-Asset, Single Asset, Active, or Passive. The awards are clearly marked in Dynamic Planner to allow easy filtering and selection of rated funds.
